What are the standout dishes there and roughly what does a meal cost? Also, is it walkable from the nearest LRT station or should I just grab a ride?

I've only eaten there once, but the sisig and the longganisa rice plate are what people around me kept ordering. A meal runs maybe 120 to 180 pesos. It's a short walk from the LRT but the side streets flood after rain, so a ride is safer.

Their tocino is the real standout, and 150 pesos is about right if you add an egg.

The sisig holds up, though I'd put the dinuguan slightly ahead if you're there on a Thursday. On the walk, it's more like 15 minutes from the station, not exactly short. Grab a tricycle if it's raining.

Where should I go for that, roughly what does a consultation cost, and do most clinics take international insurance or is cash expected? I'm staying near Makati so anywhere reasonably central works.

Skin Clinic at Podium, cash first, claim after.

arrow_drop_up 5 arrow_drop_down

Fair warning that Podium clinic keeps short hours on Saturdays, I'd call ahead. Cash works but they do take cards over 2,000 pesos in my experience. Budget around 1,500 for the consult plus any creams.

Cards also work at Makati Med's derm, same 2k threshold.

arrow_drop_up 3 arrow_drop_down

their card terminal was down when i went so bring physical cash to be safe

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

agree, bring pesos & get a receipt for the claim

arrow_drop_up 0 arrow_drop_down

makati med is another option & they have a dermatology dept, i think consults are around 1000-2000. bring cash honestly, some clinics take cards but insurance billing is rare so u pay first & claim later

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

yeah cash first is the safe bet. one thing though, makati med has a separate outpatient building for derm so ask at the main lobby which one, don't wander. consult fee there landed closer to 1,800 for me last year.

The Medical City in Ortigas is worth the short trip, they handle foreign patients directly and can bill some international insurers.
