The 180 probably includes aircon and a seat, which is what you're paying for. If you want the real cheap version, look for a karinderya near a school or wet market, usually 70 to 90 with viand already.

180 for a rice meal at a canteen is a bit high, I'd expect 100 to 130 for a basic point-point place. But if it's a sit-down spot or in a mall area like Makati, 180 isn't crazy. Carinderia food is where u get teh real cheap eats, not branded canteens.

Check if service charge or drinks get tacked on at the counter, since that's where canteen bills quietly creep past the posted price.
