tbh most bars in that area take Visa/Mastercard fine but smaller spots and ihaw-ihaw places are cash only. ATMs charge around 250 pesos per withdrawal so pull a bigger amount at once, BPI or BDO machines are the reliable ones. GCash needs a PH number to verify so its not worth the hassle for a short trip.

yeah Maya's the easy one for a tourist. just top it up from your card and you can scan at most spots around Poblacion. some smaller bars still want cash so dont rely on it 100%.

good to know. does the top up hit your card as a cash advance or a normal charge? my bank treats some wallet loads as cash advance and slaps interest right away, so i'd rather find out before i try it

Spot on about the cash-only ihaw spots, but Security Bank ATMs near Burgos Circle often have shorter lines than the BPI ones on Rada.
