good shout on the red beer. their schankbier at the little bar downstairs is worth the detour too, and its open later than most places near the burg. i'd skip the restaurant upstairs myself, feels a bit geared to tour groups.

solid pick but its a bit of a walk from hauptbahnhof, maybe 15 min through the altstadt. if ur after proper old kneipen too, landbierparadies on färberstrasse is worth a look, no frills & locals only

I'm not based in Manila so take this with a grain of salt, but I visited last year and Great Shakes is fine, just not a pilgrimage. If you're staying in that area, the nearby streets have better options for a proper shake, and the small cafes around the side roads tend to be quieter in the mornings. Worth walking a few blocks before committing.
