Ask for a video walkthrough before you commit.

Rates change yearly, call them directly.

And ask if the CR is shared or private.

Shared CRs usually mean a lower rate too.

Get them to spell out whether the private CR comes with its own water meter, since some boarding houses charge extra for that.

Check whether the building sits on a flood prone street before committing, Manila gets hit hard from July to September. Confirm the exact barangay and pin it on Google Maps, since "walking distance" listings often stretch 15 minutes or more to the nearest jeepney stop.

Visiting Manila next month and staying near Great Shakes Corporation. Is their milkshake worth the trip or should I look elsewhere? Any other cafes nearby worth checking out in 2026? I'm not based in Manila so take this with a grain of salt, but I visited last year and Great Shakes is fine, just not a pilgrimage. If you're staying in that area, the nearby streets have better options for a proper shake, and the small cafes around the side roads tend to be quieter in the mornings. Worth walking a few blocks before committing.
