Also, what's the easiest way to get around that area at night, Grab or jeepney, and roughly what should I expect to pay?

tricycles are your best bet for short hops after dark, around 50 to 80 pesos, and agree the fare before you get in

Fair point on agreeing the fare first, though I'd add tricycles thin out fast past midnight around Quiapo, so don't count on one at 1am. If you're stuck, walking to a main road for a ride-hailing app is more reliable than waiting on a side street.

yeah past midnight it's dead, head to malate instead

Agree on the main-road walk, and Recto or Quezon Blvd are your best bets since drivers avoid the side streets after dark.

Jameron's actually in Quiapo, so most nearby spots shut early; head to Malate or BGC instead, and expect around 200 to 300 pesos for a Grab.

grab after 11, jeepneys thin out there

Jeepneys are gone well before midnight anyway.

best milkshakes in Manila near Great Shakes Corporation?

Visiting Manila next month and staying near Great Shakes Corporation. Is their milkshake worth the trip or should I look elsewhere? Any other cafes nearby worth checking out in 2026? I'm not based in Manila so take this with a grain of salt, but I visited last year and Great Shakes is fine, just not a pilgrimage. If you're staying in that area, the nearby streets have better options for a proper shake, and the small cafes around the side roads tend to be quieter in the mornings. Worth walking a few blocks before committing.
