The mall is the actual third space here, more than bars. People linger at Greenbelt or SM Aura over coffee or dinner, and a "coffee?" invite is low pressure by design. Group hangs through work barkadas are common, so being friendly with officemates pays off. Expect texting to run long before any meetup; that pace isn't disinterest, it's just how it goes.

yeah the coffee invite thing is real, and malls stay aircon cool when it's 34 out, which is half the reason people linger
