Is it worth paying for a coworking spot in Makati or BGC, and how do you handle the time difference if your team's in Europe? also curious how long most remote folks actually stay in Manila before moving on

Converge near Ayala, not BGC.

Agree, though PLDT fiber in Poblacion is solid too.

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

Globe fiber's the flaky one, avoid it.

BGC fine if u stay north of High Street

arrow_drop_up 5 arrow_drop_down

North of High Street is the quieter side, true.

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down

True, though the stretch toward 5th Avenue gets you closer to tricycle traffic again. I'd aim for the blocks right around 7th and 9th, quieter but still walkable to the offices.

arrow_drop_up 3 arrow_drop_down

The 30th St side gets you away from the jeepney noise but you're still 10 min from the office towers.

Makati CBD fiber's more consistent than the barangay side.

Visiting Manila next month and staying near Great Shakes Corporation. Is their milkshake worth the trip or should I look elsewhere? Any other cafes nearby worth checking out in 2026? bgc for the thick ones

arrow_drop_up 3 arrow_drop_down

I'm not based in Manila so take this with a grain of salt, but I visited last year and Great Shakes is fine, just not a pilgrimage. If you're staying in that area, the nearby streets have better options for a proper shake, and the small cafes around the side roads tend to be quieter in the mornings. Worth walking a few blocks before committing.

yeah mornings are key, try the side street cafes off Shaw before 9am when the baristas aren't slammed yet

Jollibee peach pie shake, nothing fancy
