got quoted 850 pesos a night at rasmia macabago boarding house, is that normal for a basic room in manila or am i being overcharged as a foreigner? seen cheaper on agoda but not sure if those listings… got quoted 850 pesos a night at rasmia macabago boarding house, is that normal for a basic room in manila or am i being overcharged as a foreigner? seen cheaper on agoda but not sure if those listings are legit

850 a night is steep for a basic fan room around there, that's more like aircon transient rates. Agoda listings in Manila are mostly legit but watch the bait and switch, the cheap ones often mean shared CR. Try walking Sampaloc side streets for 500 to 600.

yeah and the 500 to 600 spots usually dont show up online at all, you just have to ask around once ur there

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down

850 is more of a transient rate tbh, walk ins usually pay less if u stay a few nights & haggle. ask if that includes aircon & own CR before comparing to agoda, the cheap ones usually shared

850 sounds like the tourist walk in price, try asking kung may monthly or weekly rate sila kasi mas mura yun

Zeny's Fastfood and Restaurant: worth a stop in 2026?

fmd_goodZeny's Fastfood and Restaurant · #restaurant #manila #meal
I'm passing through Manila later in 2026 and Zeny's Fastfood and Restaurant keeps coming up. Is it a good spot for an inexpensive local meal, and what should I order on a first visit? only been once on a stopover & honestly the sisig is what i'd get again, sizzling plate, cheap. it's a carinderia vibe so don't expect much on the ambience side. bring cash & go before the lunch rush or you'll be waiting

arrow_drop_up 0 arrow_drop_down

cash is the big one, most carinderias are still cash only

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

yeah and the smaller bills matter more, sari-sari stores nearby rarely break a 500 for a 120 peso meal

The sisig holds up but I'd add a side of their fried lumpia too, cheap and good for sharing. Also go before 11:30 if u can, the office crowd hits hard around noon.
