I'm visiting Manila for the first time in March 2026 and heard Mouthwatering Food Center is worth a stop. Which stalls should I not miss, and what's a reasonable budget per person? I've only passed through, but bring around 150 to 250 pesos and just follow the longest lines, especially for grilled seafood and silog stalls.

Skip the silog stalls before 11, better after.

That budget holds up, though the grilled seafood stalls near the entrance run closer to 200 to 300 pesos once you add rice.

Following the longest line works, but check what's actually on the grill first. Some stalls draw a crowd just from name recall while the better liempo sits two counters down with no queue at all. Go before noon on weekdays if you can, the seating gets brutal after 1.

Sounds about right, maybe pad it a bit if you're getting seafood. Bring cash, some stalls don't take cards.

Cash only at most stalls, so bring smaller bills.

Is Manila safe to walk at night in 2026?

Which s… I'm visiting in 2026 and staying near Fe-Bulous Canteen, and I'm trying to work out whether it's fine to walk back to my hotel after dinner around 10pm or if I should just grab a Grab instead. Which streets around there are okay late and which ones should I avoid?
arrow_drop_up 6 arrow_drop_down

I've walked around there after dinner and it felt fine on the main lit streets, but I'd still grab a Grab past 10pm. Side streets off the main road get quiet and poorly lit fast, so stick to the busy ones if you do walk.

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down

Yeah agreed, though I'd add that even the main roads thin out fast after 11 so don't count on crowds that late.

arrow_drop_up 0 arrow_drop_down

Fair, though the stretch by Remedios circle stays lit and busy later than most side streets round there.
