Most stalls there are cash only, so bring small bills; the sisig and pork BBQ places near the entrance run around 80 to 120 pesos.

yeah cash is the safe bet, though a few stalls now take gcash if u ask. bring 20s and 50s, they hate breaking 500s for an 80 peso meal

arrow_drop_up 3 arrow_drop_down

The 500 peso problem is real, vendors get cagey.

Sari-sari stores nearby will break a 500 for you if you buy something small first.

That works, but expect to pay a little more than the sticker price, some tindahan round up for the convenience. Buying a soda or a sachet of coffee first definitely smooths it out.

GCash works at more stalls than people expect now, especially the bigger ones selling rice meals. Ask before you line up though, since the turo-turo spots still point you to the cashier. Keeping a few 100s on hand saves the awkward pause.

Pork BBQ near the entrance is closer to 25 to 35 a stick, so five sticks plus rice lands in that range.

arrow_drop_up 4 arrow_drop_down

sisig portions there are smaller than the bbq so budget closer to 120 if ur hungry

arrow_drop_up 3 arrow_drop_down

bring 20s and 50s, they wont break a 500

Do people mostly meet through friends, apps, or out at places like cafes and bars? And is there anything that catches foreigners off guard at first?

Apps like Bumble and Tinder dominate, but friend setups are common; foreigners get caught off guard by how early "tara, kain tayo" turns into a group thing.
