Farnecio Eatery in Manila, worth the trip?

fmd_goodFarnecio Eatery · #food #eatery #manila
I'm visiting Manila in 2026 and Farnecio Eatery keeps coming up in food threads. What's the go-to order there and roughly what does a meal cost? Also, is it cash only? Tapsilog around 90 pesos, cash only.

more like 120 now, & they close by 3pm

arrow_drop_up 5 arrow_drop_down

the 120 tracks with what i paid in january, and the lunch rush around noon is when teh silog plates start running out

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down

Went in 2023, got the tapsilog for around 90 pesos and it was cash only then, bring small bills.

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

Still cash only last I checked, so yeah, small bills.

arrow_drop_up 5 arrow_drop_down

bring 200s, they rarely have change before noon

arrow_drop_up 3 arrow_drop_down

last time i passed by they had a gcash qr taped to the counter, so it's not strictly cash anymore. signal's spotty inside though so don't count on it going through

arrow_drop_up 5 arrow_drop_down

yeah 90 sounds right, last i heard it's closer to 120 now so bring extra small bills just in case

arrow_drop_up 4 arrow_drop_down

prices crept up since 2023 but they also started taking gcash, though signal inside is spotty so keep some cash handy

Do I sort the barangay clearance and mayor's permit first, or does the liquor permit come before those? honestly not sure where to even start with teh paperwork.

The order is usually barangay clearance, then mayor's permit, with the liquor licence handled by the city licensing office after. Budget extra time for the BIR registration and the zoning check on your address, since a bar near schools or churches can get flagged.

arrow_drop_up 3 arrow_drop_down

pretty sure barangay clearance comes first then mayor's permit, liquor licence after those, but id double check with the city hall peeps
