Their dabeli leans sweet on the tamarind, so ask for extra garlic chutney to balance it.

if u r near the area anyway grab the dabeli fresh off the tawa, ask for it spicy otherwise it comes mild

paras is fine for dabeli tbh, the vada pav and the cheese grilled sandwich are worth getting too. if u want variety just walk around the area, lots of small snack spots. i've only been once as a visitor so don't quote me on the best one

yeah the cheese grilled sandwich is the sleeper hit there, ask for extra chutney on the side tho

I've only been there on visits, but the trick is timing it around Friday prayers. Between roughly 12:30 and 2pm on a Friday the whole area goes quiet because everyone's at the masjid, so you get it nearly empty. Rickshaws from Shahrah-e-Faisal will drop you nearby, just tell the driver Kajal Canteen by name since it's well known.

yeah that friday window is real, just watch for jummah traffic buildup after 1

Fair point on the name drop, though from Shahrah-e-Faisal you'll want to get off at the Nursery flyover side rather than the main road, saves the driver a U-turn. Also worth noting the place shuts early on Fridays, so don't bank on a late lunch there.

The Nursery side is right, nobody mentions the parking mess there though.

arrow_drop_up -1 arrow_drop_down

Nursery flyover side, yes. Rickshaws won't take the U-turn happily.

arrow_drop_up 5 arrow_drop_down

good call on the early close, worth double checking the exact hours before u go

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

Mid-afternoon, around 3 to 4, the lull between lunch and dinner.

Weekday lunch, way calmer than evenings.
