I'm a sucker for a good ghost story, but I'm also kinda worried about, like, actually encountering something... supernatural. Anyone ever stayed there? What's the deal with all the spooky rumours? Did you see anything weird?!

I stayed two nights back in 2019 and the thing nobody mentions is how the jungle gets at night. Howler monkeys start up around 4am and it sounds like something being murdered, that's probably half the "unsettling sounds" right there. The caretaker's dogs also roam loose, so if you hear breathing outside your window it's them, not a spirit. Go for the isolation and the cenote nearby, not for a haunting, and definitely rent a car because taxis won't come out that far after dark.

the caretaker there is the real reason people get spooked, dude is quiet as hell & appears out of nowhere at night, guests freak out thinking its a ghost. place itself is fine, just old & creaky af with bad wiring so lights flicker. bring a flashlight & u good

honestly the whole Arsgan House thing is mostly a tourist story that got out of hand. the "strange lights" are usually just the bioluminescence tours out on the water plus some drunks with flashlights. i wouldnt worry about ghosts, id worry about the mosquitoes and the fact that its pretty far from town if u need anything

my tia subbed there for a semester & said the notebook thing is real but its not about predicting anything. she just recycles the same 5 questions every cycle so by week 3 everyone whos been paying attention already knows whats coming. the actual chaos is the morning shift, kids hopping the fence by the cancha to grab tortas before the 7am bell.

honestly the psychic thing is mostly just kids being dramatic. my neighbor's kid went there and swore she keeps a little notebook with every class's weak spots, like she knows exactly who didnt read the chapter. tbh thats less ESP and more her just paying attention for 20 years. also the lunch chaos is real, that whole stretch near Av. Chac Mool gets nuts around 2pm when everyone spills out.
