The pictures online are stunning, but they don't show much about the surrounding area. I'm hoping for a secluded getaway, but I'm a little worried about how isolated it actually is. Is it easy to get groceries or supplies, or should I stock up before I even get there? I heard the locals call it "Casa Arsgan" sometimes...maybe that's just a rumour. Anyway, I'm a bit nervous about running out of tequila. Seriously though, any advice on what to expect from the nearby area?

honestly the bigger issue out there isn't groceries, it's water and power. that stretch past Puerto Aventuras gets brownouts when it rains hard and some of those rentals run on cisterns, so ask the host how often the tinaco gets refilled. for supplies, the Oxxo and the little fruteria in Puerto Aventuras cover the basics and there's a decent carniceria near the marina if you want to grill. ngl I'd skip the big supermarket run and just grab what you need locally, teh drive into Playa is a pain with traffic.

Arsgan House sits down a dirt road off the 307 near Puerto Aventuras, so you're not exactly in the wilderness but you're not walking to a corner store either. The nearest proper supermarket is a Chedraui in Playa del Carmen, about 25 minutes north, or you can hit the smaller shops in Puerto Aventuras for basics. Stock up on tequila and anything specific before you settle in, because the local tiendas mostly carry beer, water and snacks, and they close early. Taxis can be slow to reach that road at night so having your own car makes a big difference.

ngl the roads out that way eat rental cars alive, potholes everywhere after rain. just get the full insurance

Forget about it. He keeps mentioning this one teacher, Señora Rodriguez, who's legendary for her pop quizzes. Seriously, he's convinced she can predict the future. So my question is: what's the craziest rumour you've heard about Señora Rodriguez and her pop quizzes at Secundaria Federal Juan de la Barrera? Is she actually psychic...?

my tia subbed there for a semester & said the notebook thing is real but its not about predicting anything. she just recycles the same 5 questions every cycle so by week 3 everyone whos been paying attention already knows whats coming. the actual chaos is the morning shift, kids hopping the fence by the cancha to grab tortas before the 7am bell.

honestly the psychic thing is mostly just kids being dramatic. my neighbor's kid went there and swore she keeps a little notebook with every class's weak spots, like she knows exactly who didnt read the chapter. tbh thats less ESP and more her just paying attention for 20 years. also the lunch chaos is real, that whole stretch near Av. Chac Mool gets nuts around 2pm when everyone spills out.

I don't know about psychic but a friend swears she once gave a quiz on a chapter nobody had been assigned yet.
