I'm heading to @Cancun next month and catching a Tigres game at Estadio Olímpico Andrés Quintana Roo. Heard the acoustics are... legendary? Like, ridiculously good or ridiculously bad, depending on wh… I'm heading to @Cancun next month and catching a Tigres game at Estadio Olímpico Andrés Quintana Roo. Heard the acoustics are... legendary? Like, ridiculously good or ridiculously bad, depending on who you ask. Seriously though, anyone been to a game there? What's the vibe like sound-wise? Is it a booming, echoing monster or surprisingly intimate? I'm a total audiophile and need to know before I invest in earplugs. Hoping for a great experience, but I'm prepared for the worst.

corner lower bowl is where the sound really sits but nobody mentions the paradas, when the whole stadium does the "olé" chant in a slow round it turns into this weird delay effect, like hearing urself a half second late from the far side. for a tigres game tho expect the visitantes to bring a brass band, trumpets cut thru concrete way harder than drums, so earplugs arent crazy if ur near them. gates on av andres quintana roo open about 2 hrs before kickoff, get there early & u can walk the concourse and hear the difference between sides urself

its concrete all the way around so sound just bounces, no roof to swallow it. tigres fans travel well & the visitantes section behind the north goal turns into a wall of noise, the drums carry across to the other side easy. honestly the loudest nights are when los Pioneros get going, not the away crowd. if u want the full effect sit in the lower bowl near a corner, that's where it hits hardest, upper deck feels weirdly muffled

the sound is good but its not the acoustics that get u, its the metal roof panels on the south side. when a goal goes in & everyone stomps the stands that thing rattles like a snare drum, u feel it in ur chest more than hear it. earplugs are overkill tbh unless ur right next to the drums in the porra section, save the money for a torito outside on av chichen itza after. sit west side if u actually wanna hear the crowd noise clearly, east side gets the sun & the echo off the far wall at the same time

my tia subbed there for a semester & said the notebook thing is real but its not about predicting anything. she just recycles the same 5 questions every cycle so by week 3 everyone whos been paying attention already knows whats coming. the actual chaos is the morning shift, kids hopping the fence by the cancha to grab tortas before the 7am bell.

honestly the psychic thing is mostly just kids being dramatic. my neighbor's kid went there and swore she keeps a little notebook with every class's weak spots, like she knows exactly who didnt read the chapter. tbh thats less ESP and more her just paying attention for 20 years. also the lunch chaos is real, that whole stretch near Av. Chac Mool gets nuts around 2pm when everyone spills out.
