Arsgan House Mystery

My family's from the Hotel Zone, not the old part of town, but I dated someone whose dad did electrical work out at Arsgan House about fifteen years ago. He said the place has a weird layout, like rooms that don't quite line up with the exterior walls, and he always got the creeps running conduit near the back of the property. The metal detector is an interesting angle, but I'd also check if any floor tiles sound hollow, apparently that's how the dad found a crawlspace under what looked like a solid pantry floor. He never found any grand hidden room, just old wine bottles and a rusted safe that was empty, but the house definitely has its secrets.

I've heard that story about the hidden room from a few older locals in Puerto Juarez. The legend says it was a priest's study from the early 1900s, sealed off after some kind of scandal involving the church and a local family. My abuela used to say you can sometimes hear a typewriter clacking from that side of the house late at night, but she always laughed it off as wind in the old pipes. The metal detector might actually pick up something if the passage had a metal door or hinges, but I'd be more curious about what's behind the heavy wooden paneling in the back hall near the kitchen.

the priest's study story matches what i heard from a guy who works at the mercado 28. he said his grandpa helped renovate arsgan house in the 70s and found a small room behind a false wall with old ledgers and a crucifix. the metal detector might find something but i'd check the floorboards near the back wall first, that's where the grandpa guy said the entrance was. also the wifi drops out completely in that corner which is kind of weird for such a small building

my tia subbed there for a semester & said the notebook thing is real but its not about predicting anything. she just recycles the same 5 questions every cycle so by week 3 everyone whos been paying attention already knows whats coming. the actual chaos is the morning shift, kids hopping the fence by the cancha to grab tortas before the 7am bell.

honestly the psychic thing is mostly just kids being dramatic. my neighbor's kid went there and swore she keeps a little notebook with every class's weak spots, like she knows exactly who didnt read the chapter. tbh thats less ESP and more her just paying attention for 20 years. also the lunch chaos is real, that whole stretch near Av. Chac Mool gets nuts around 2pm when everyone spills out.
