So, I'm finally here at Arsgan House, this beautiful chalet near Cancun. The view is insane, seriously postcard-worthy. I spent the afternoon exploring the jungle trails nearby, saw a family of spider… So, I'm finally here at Arsgan House, this beautiful chalet near Cancun. The view is insane, seriously postcard-worthy. I spent the afternoon exploring the jungle trails nearby, saw a family of spider monkeys! But... the wifi is practically non-existent. I'm trying to work remotely, and I'm seriously considering sacrificing my hammock time for a trip to a cafe with better internet. Anyone know of any decent places nearby with reliable wifi, or should I just accept my fate of becoming one with the jungle?

tbh the wifi at Arsgan House is notoriously spotty, it's the trade-off for being that deep in the jungle. if you're desperate, head to Selvatica Cafe on the main road towards Puerto Morelos, it's like 15 mins by cab and they have fiber optic. their espresso is decent too, but the real win is the air conditioning. otherwise yeah, just lean into the jungle life and save the emails for when you're back in the hotel zone

The spider monkeys are a good sign you're in the right place. For wifi, skip the hotel zone and try Cafe Ka'an in the SM 24 neighborhood, it's about a 20 minute drive but the connection is solid and they roast their own beans. If you're willing to go a bit further, the public library in downtown Cancun has free internet and it's dead quiet, just bring your own headphones. Honestly though, if you can get a few hours of work done in the morning when the jungle's still waking up, the afternoon hammock time is worth the trade.

Oof, that wifi situation sounds rough. Depending on how far you're willing to travel from Arsgan House, there might be a few options. Check out any hotels along the hotel zone; most will have decent wifi, even if you're just grabbing a coffee in their lobby. Otherwise, Cancun's main drag is usually packed with cafes with strong signals, you could always head into town for a few hours. But honestly, hammock time vs. work... hammock time wins every time. Just sayin'. Maybe try a different time of day for the wifi, sometimes the signal's better at off-peak hours.

my tia subbed there for a semester & said the notebook thing is real but its not about predicting anything. she just recycles the same 5 questions every cycle so by week 3 everyone whos been paying attention already knows whats coming. the actual chaos is the morning shift, kids hopping the fence by the cancha to grab tortas before the 7am bell.

honestly the psychic thing is mostly just kids being dramatic. my neighbor's kid went there and swore she keeps a little notebook with every class's weak spots, like she knows exactly who didnt read the chapter. tbh thats less ESP and more her just paying attention for 20 years. also the lunch chaos is real, that whole stretch near Av. Chac Mool gets nuts around 2pm when everyone spills out.
