I'm going back to Secundaria Federal Juan de la Barrera next week for a reunion, haven't been back since graduation, feels like a lifetime ago! I remember the crazy basketball games during lunch break, the teachers with their totally unique styles... Mrs. Rodriguez's terrifying algebra quizzes still haunt my dreams. Seriously, does anyone remember that infamous field trip to Chichén Itzá? I lost my sunglasses there, a totally rad pair, and I'm dying to know if anyone found something similar lying around. Any chance someone might still have them?

honestly the basketball games were the best part of school, i still remember that one time alberto tried to show off and tripped over his own shoelaces, classic. about your sunglasses, i'd check with the used market stalls near mercado 28, they always have random stuff from tourists, but after this long they're prob in some souvenir shop by now. that chichén itzá trip was a mess, i swear half of us spent the whole time trying to find shade while listening to the guide drone on about the equinox.

i remember that chichén itzá trip, the bus ac barely worked and we all showed up sweating buckets. pretty sure any sunglasses left there are now part of some cenote ecosystem at this point lol. the basketball games were the only thing that made tuesdays bearable, especially when the teachers would join in and pretend they didn't know the rules.

The Chichén Itzá trip was legendary for all the wrong reasons. I still remember half the class getting sick from those questionable tamales they sold near the entrance. As for your sunglasses, I'd check with the lost and found at the school office if you haven't already, they kept a box of random stuff for years. The basketball games were fun but nothing beat the chaos of the annual school fair when Mr. Hernandez would try to run the dunk tank and end up soaked himself.

my tia subbed there for a semester & said the notebook thing is real but its not about predicting anything. she just recycles the same 5 questions every cycle so by week 3 everyone whos been paying attention already knows whats coming. the actual chaos is the morning shift, kids hopping the fence by the cancha to grab tortas before the 7am bell.

honestly the psychic thing is mostly just kids being dramatic. my neighbor's kid went there and swore she keeps a little notebook with every class's weak spots, like she knows exactly who didnt read the chapter. tbh thats less ESP and more her just paying attention for 20 years. also the lunch chaos is real, that whole stretch near Av. Chac Mool gets nuts around 2pm when everyone spills out.
