Secundaria Memories?

My Abuela went there, she's always told these wild stories about sneaking into the school's courtyard after hours to pick mangoes from the tree near the basketball court. Apparently, it was a huge deal back in the day. The mangoes were legendary. So, my question is: Are those mango trees still there? I gotta see if the legend lives up to the hype...

No idea about the mango tree, but Secundaria Federal Juan de la Barrera is still there. I've driven past it a few times. It looks pretty much the same, though maybe a little more run-down. Worth checking out the courtyard though, even if the mangoes are long gone. Good luck with your Abuela's legendary mango hunt!

I've actually heard this exact story from a few locals. The mango trees are still there, right by the basketball court near the corner of Avenida de los Tules. They're not as tall as they probably were in your Abuela's day, but they still drop fruit during the summer months. If you go in the late afternoon around 4 PM, you might catch the caretaker who's been there for over 20 years. He's got a soft spot for nostalgia and might let you grab a couple if you explain the connection.

Forget about it. He keeps mentioning this one teacher, Señora Rodriguez, who's legendary for her pop quizzes. Seriously, he's convinced she can predict the future. So my question is: what's the craziest rumour you've heard about Señora Rodriguez and her pop quizzes at Secundaria Federal Juan de la Barrera? Is she actually psychic...?

my tia subbed there for a semester & said the notebook thing is real but its not about predicting anything. she just recycles the same 5 questions every cycle so by week 3 everyone whos been paying attention already knows whats coming. the actual chaos is the morning shift, kids hopping the fence by the cancha to grab tortas before the 7am bell.

honestly the psychic thing is mostly just kids being dramatic. my neighbor's kid went there and swore she keeps a little notebook with every class's weak spots, like she knows exactly who didnt read the chapter. tbh thats less ESP and more her just paying attention for 20 years. also the lunch chaos is real, that whole stretch near Av. Chac Mool gets nuts around 2pm when everyone spills out.

I don't know about psychic but a friend swears she once gave a quiz on a chapter nobody had been assigned yet.
