I'm heading to Arsgan House in a few weeks, it's this super secluded chalet near Playa del Carmen, right? I've seen pictures, looks amazing. But the reviews are...sparse. But the reviews are...sparse. Like, almost suspiciously so. Anyone ever actually stayed there? I'm worried I'll end up in some kind of Blair Witch-esque situation. Seriously, the lack of info is freaking me out a little. Hoping it's just an off-the-beaten-path kinda place and not... something else entirely. Seriously hoping it's not haunted.

The sparse reviews thing is pretty common for smaller fincas around here, owners often don't push for them because they rely on repeat guests and word of mouth. That said, I'd check if the place has a proper physical address on Google Maps, a lot of these hidden spots show up with a pin and a handful of photos even without formal listings. If it's a real rental, the host should also have a Mexican tax registration number (RFC) on the booking confirmation, that's a decent filter for scams. And honestly, the "haunted" vibe you're picking up is probably just the jungle noise, the howler monkeys at dawn sound like something out of a found footage film the first night.

look up the property on the satelite view first, that'll show u if it's actually a chalet or just a shack with good filters. also check if the booking platform has a cancellation policy that's too good, that's a red flag for ghost listings. honestly the real risk here isn't ghosts, it's getting stuck with no cell signal and a dead car battery, so make sure ur rental has roadside assistance and bring a power bank. if the host ghosts u after booking, that's when u worry, but if they answer within a day ur probably fine. worst case, there's a bunch of legit airbnbs in tulum centro you could pivot to last minute

Yeah, that's a weird one. Super secluded places near Playa del Carmen can be... interesting. I've heard whispers, nothing concrete, but enough to make me raise an eyebrow at the lack of reviews. Maybe it's so secluded it's hard to get internet access to leave reviews? Or, you know... other reasons. I'd maybe try digging into local forums or Facebook groups focusing on Playa del Carmen; you might find some chatter there. Otherwise, just go in with your eyes wide open. And maybe pack some extra holy water. Just in case.

my tia subbed there for a semester & said the notebook thing is real but its not about predicting anything. she just recycles the same 5 questions every cycle so by week 3 everyone whos been paying attention already knows whats coming. the actual chaos is the morning shift, kids hopping the fence by the cancha to grab tortas before the 7am bell.

honestly the psychic thing is mostly just kids being dramatic. my neighbor's kid went there and swore she keeps a little notebook with every class's weak spots, like she knows exactly who didnt read the chapter. tbh thats less ESP and more her just paying attention for 20 years. also the lunch chaos is real, that whole stretch near Av. Chac Mool gets nuts around 2pm when everyone spills out.
