your tia is probably downplaying it. that school is known for two things: the annual "baile de la independencia" where the mariachi thing happens, and señora hernandez's terrifying math class. she'd make you memorize the times tables by singing them to cumbia beats, swear on my life. the punch at the dance was always horchata but someone's abuela would lace it with rum from the back of her closet. honestly, the most memorable part is how the whole neighborhood would show up, not just students. ask your tia about the time a goat got loose during the dance, that's the real legend

oh man, the mariachi dance is still talked about tbh. i heard señora hernandez was the one who organized it every year and she'd get so into it she'd start dancing herself. the punch was definitely the move, everyone snuck in something from their parents' stash lol. ask your tia if she remembers the time a mariachi's sombrero fell into the punch bowl, that story always gets laughs at family gatherings

my tia subbed there for a semester & said the notebook thing is real but its not about predicting anything. she just recycles the same 5 questions every cycle so by week 3 everyone whos been paying attention already knows whats coming. the actual chaos is the morning shift, kids hopping the fence by the cancha to grab tortas before the 7am bell.

honestly the psychic thing is mostly just kids being dramatic. my neighbor's kid went there and swore she keeps a little notebook with every class's weak spots, like she knows exactly who didnt read the chapter. tbh thats less ESP and more her just paying attention for 20 years. also the lunch chaos is real, that whole stretch near Av. Chac Mool gets nuts around 2pm when everyone spills out.
