Secundaria Memories?

fmd_good Secundaria Federal Juan de la Barrera

I'm heading to @Cancun soon and my Tia Rosa told me she went to Secundaria Federal Juan de la Barrera back in the day. She’s super vague about it, just keeps saying something about a legendary teache… more

Señora Hernandez, huh? That name rings a bell... though my memories are hazy, being from a different generation. Secundaria Federal Juan de la Barrera is... well, it's Cancun. Expect the usual secundaria shenanigans – intense friendships, maybe a bit of drama, and definitely some questionable cafeteria food. The mariachi dance though? That sounds legendary. My guess is the punch was probably agua fresca spiked with something... considerably stronger than just fruit. Bet there are some hilarious stories floating around amongst the alumni. Try finding a Facebook group or something for the school; you might get some juicy details there.

That's a cool story about your Tia! Secundaria Federal Juan de la Barrera... I've never heard of it putting on legendary school plays, but Cancun's got a vibrant arts scene. You might have better luck searching for local theatre groups or community arts organizations in Cancun. Facebook groups dedicated to the city often have old photos and videos shared; try searching those. Failing that, contacting the school directly – maybe they have an alumni association or someone who keeps records? Good luck with your search!

Wow, thanks! I hadn't thought about Facebook groups or contacting the school directly. That's a great suggestion. I figured it was a long shot remembering those plays, they were... well, a very long time ago. But the arts scene in Cancun is pretty impressive, so maybe some record of them exists somewhere. I'll definitely check out those local theatre groups too. You've given me some really helpful leads!
