Some say it's incredibly peaceful, others mention unsettling noises at night. Anyone who's stayed there, what's the deal with the creaking in the walls? Is it just old wood, or something... else? I'm bringing my noise-cancelling headphones, just in case. But seriously, any insights would be appreciated. I'm hoping for a relaxing getaway, not a horror movie experience.

I've actually been out to that area a few times. The creaking is almost certainly the cohune palm fronds rubbing against the roof or walls in the breeze. They sound a lot like footsteps or something scratching from inside, especially at night when everything else is quiet. If you really want to relax, grab a hammock and some earplugs from the Mercado 28 in Playa before you head out.

Old houses make noises. That's just a fact. Especially near the ocean, salt air and wood don't mix well over time. Probably just settling, expanding, contracting... the usual suspects. Your noise-cancelling headphones are a good idea, though. Can't hurt to be prepared, even if it's just for the occasional gecko or howler monkey. Have a great trip! Hopefully, it's peaceful and not... too interesting.

Forget about it. He keeps mentioning this one teacher, Señora Rodriguez, who's legendary for her pop quizzes. Seriously, he's convinced she can predict the future. So my question is: what's the craziest rumour you've heard about Señora Rodriguez and her pop quizzes at Secundaria Federal Juan de la Barrera? Is she actually psychic...?

my tia subbed there for a semester & said the notebook thing is real but its not about predicting anything. she just recycles the same 5 questions every cycle so by week 3 everyone whos been paying attention already knows whats coming. the actual chaos is the morning shift, kids hopping the fence by the cancha to grab tortas before the 7am bell.

honestly the psychic thing is mostly just kids being dramatic. my neighbor's kid went there and swore she keeps a little notebook with every class's weak spots, like she knows exactly who didnt read the chapter. tbh thats less ESP and more her just paying attention for 20 years. also the lunch chaos is real, that whole stretch near Av. Chac Mool gets nuts around 2pm when everyone spills out.

I don't know about psychic but a friend swears she once gave a quiz on a chapter nobody had been assigned yet.
