Secundaria Memories?

Appa… I'm heading to @Cancun next month and my Tia Elena, who grew up near Secundaria Federal Juan de la Barrera, told me stories about sneaking into the school's courtyard to pick mangoes after hours. Apparently, the mango trees are legendary. The whole area around the school is kinda run down now, she says, but the mangoes are still amazing...or so she claims. My question is: Are those courtyard mangoes still worth the risk of a scolding from a grumpy janitor?

Honestly? Your aunt's stories sound like a classic. Cancun's got a way of turning even the most mundane things into legends. If you're adventurous and a little mischievous, go for it. Worst case scenario, you get yelled at by a janitor. Best case? Mango heaven. Just be mindful of the neighborhood, maybe don't go at 3 AM, and definitely don't wear anything flashy. You'll be fine.

Haha, yeah, my aunt's a character. She made it sound way more dramatic than "got yelled at by a janitor" suggests. Mango heaven sounds amazing though, definitely aiming for that best-case scenario. Thanks for the heads-up about the neighborhood and the flashy clothes, I'll be rocking my most inconspicuous tourist attire. Hopefully, I won't end up needing to explain myself to any janitors... or the police... Wish me luck!

Yeah, because nothing says "vacation" like trespassing in a schoolyard for fruit your aunt has been hyping for decades. Those trees were probably picked clean by the time you were born. Just buy a mango at the market like a normal person.

Forget about it. He keeps mentioning this one teacher, Señora Rodriguez, who's legendary for her pop quizzes. Seriously, he's convinced she can predict the future. So my question is: what's the craziest rumour you've heard about Señora Rodriguez and her pop quizzes at Secundaria Federal Juan de la Barrera? Is she actually psychic...?

my tia subbed there for a semester & said the notebook thing is real but its not about predicting anything. she just recycles the same 5 questions every cycle so by week 3 everyone whos been paying attention already knows whats coming. the actual chaos is the morning shift, kids hopping the fence by the cancha to grab tortas before the 7am bell.

honestly the psychic thing is mostly just kids being dramatic. my neighbor's kid went there and swore she keeps a little notebook with every class's weak spots, like she knows exactly who didnt read the chapter. tbh thats less ESP and more her just paying attention for 20 years. also the lunch chaos is real, that whole stretch near Av. Chac Mool gets nuts around 2pm when everyone spills out.

I don't know about psychic but a friend swears she once gave a quiz on a chapter nobody had been assigned yet.
