anyone know where i can buy jarred basil pesto?
yeah thats the Sacla jar, green lid white label, usually bottom shelf near the butter in most Gyomu locations.
National Azabu in Hiroo has a decent selection of jarred pesto in the imported foods aisle near the pasta. You can also check the Italian section at Seijo Ishii, they usually carry Barilla pesto which is reliable. If you're near a Kaldi, they have their own store brand that's surprisingly good for the price, around 300 yen.
fwiw if you're near a gyomu supe (business supermarket) they usually have big jars of pesto in the refrigerated section near the fresh pasta and cheese. it's like 400 yen for a decent sized jar, not the best but fine for quick pasta. the brand is usually something italian i can never remember the name of but it's green and white label

The pour over set is still on before 9, though I'd skip the conbini can and get a drip at Kissa Maruyama on the back street instead.
Maruyama's drip is solid but they don't open till 8:30, so for a true early cup you're stuck waiting or settling.
If the line's already round the corner, there's a tiny standing bar two blocks toward the station doing 300 yen hand drips from 6:30. Tbh I prefer it anyway, quieter and the owner roasts his own beans. Weekends I'm in and out before Daybreak even opens.
That standing bar must be Tachinomi Kofe, the owner's beans are Ethiopian mostly and he closes at 10 sharp so don't roll in late.
yeah the 6:30 thing is why i go, but he only pulls espresso-based till 7 so dont expect a hand drip that early
honestly 7am is still late for me, i'm usually out by 5:30 and the only thing open is Komeda's, which is fine if u just want a strong kohi and a seat. there's also a gas station vending machine near the intersection that does hot canned coffee for 120 yen, sounds grim but it hits at that hour.
