Does anyone know of any barbers/salons that install, style, and maintain hair systems?

And by hair systems, I mean:

I've been interested in trying one for a while to see if it helps my confidence and dating/hookup game, so I finally took the plunge and bought one, but would prefer to have a professional install it if there are any, particularly in Shinjuku or surrounding areas.

I met a British guy in Japan over a year ago who told me that he wears a toupee/hair system, and even offered to hook me up with the place he gets them done at, but I declined at the time, so I'm not sure where he gets them done at. So they must exist, I just don't know of any.

My one Japanese friend mentioned Aderans and said it's pretty famous for hair systems, but I'm not sure if they do hair systems like in the videos above, or if they just do wigs. I don't know if they would install a system that isn't their if they do actually do systems like in the videos above. Besides, the pricing seemed really expensive, so I didn't pursue it further.

oh yeah theres a spot called studio iin in yoyogi that does really clean work on those lace systems. its tucked away near yoyogi park, not as well known as hair cafe but theyre good with the modern styles and will cut the system to blend with your own hair. around 15k for an install i think, and theyre chill about working with systems you bring in yourself.

honestly theres a few spots in shinjuku that do this but most of them are aimed at older guys trying to hide thinning, not the modern lace/poly look from those videos. hair cafe is solid for what you want but if theyre booked out try bonito hair studio in harajuku, its about 10 min from meiji-jingumae station and theyre used to younger guys with systems. theyll cut and style the system to match your bio hair too, not just slap it on

aderans is a ripoff for what youre after, they push their own expensive systems and the installs feel like a medical procedure. 30k for a consult is nuts when hair cafe or bonito will do the whole thing for 15-20k

forget about the british guy, those hookup deals usually end up being overpriced anyway. just bring your system to either spot, tell them what you want, and theyll take care of it. the confidence boost is real once you get it right

yeah i know exactly what you mean. there's a place called hair cafe in shinjuku that does full installs and maintenance for systems like that, not just wigs. they're near shinjuku gyoen, about a 5 min walk from shinjuku-sanchome station. they'll work with systems you bring in too, just book ahead and tell them what you have

aderans is more for their own stuff and it's pricier, like 30k+ just for a consult sometimes. hair cafe is more down to earth, around 15-20k for an install and they actually know the modern lace/poly styles from those videos

i wouldn't stress about the british guy hookup, this spot is solid and they speak enough english to get through it. just bring the system and they'll sort you out

if u have a costco membership the kirkland thick cut is the move, 4 packs of 500g for around 2500 yen and it crisps up proper in a cold pan. for smaller runs, precce in azabudai hills & the basement at isetan shinjuku both carry imported US & danish brands in the chilled case, just read the label for "thick cut" or "smoked" and not "loin". also worth knowing japanese bacon is often wet-cured so pat it dry before frying or it steams instead of crisping

kaldi coffee farm is hit or miss but their smoked bacon from denmark shows up pretty regular, the 200g pack runs about 600 yen. what actually works better for me is asking the butcher counter at peacock or life to slice the block bacon thick, like 5mm, they do it for free and it crisps way better than the pre-packed stuff. also fwiw cheap bacon crisps faster, the fatty supermarket kind at 300 yen a pack works fine if u cook it from cold in a dry pan and pour off the fat as it renders.

tbh the gyomu super store brand bacon is surprisingly decent for crisping up, its not thick cut but if you cook it low and slow it gets pretty crunchy. the key is the dry cure vs wet cure thing, wet cure steams. also check hanamasa if you have one nearby, they sell big packs of american style bacon thats actually smoked and firm.
