Where can I go dance after 11 in Shimo?

Moved back to Tokyo about 8 months ago, feeling a bit buzzed and not ready to go home yet! Where can I go swing a leg (with no entry preferably, so I can dip out when I'm ready) in Shimo-Kitazawa? Anyone out right now and fancy letting a very silly, very dance boy be an extra wheel?

if you're already buzzed and just want to keep moving without planning ahead, head toward the south exit and check the basement bars along the narrow alley behind the 7-eleven. no cover at most of them, just a drink minimum, and they stay open till 2 or 3 on weeknights. my personal fave is a tiny place called bar psi, they play mostly 80s j-pop and nobody cares how bad your dancing is. just be warned the stairs are steep as hell when you're tipsy

honestly if you're in shimo after 11 and want no cover, your best bet is just wandering down the main strip toward the station and listening for music spilling out. a lot of the tiny bars on the side streets off of Kamikitazawa-dori don't charge entry, they just have a drink minimum. i've stumbled into places near the south exit that were playing funk and house until like 3am, no idea what they were called but the door was open

if u want something more consistent, Three is usually open late and has a dance floor but they sometimes have a cover on weekends. for free entry your best move is honestly just following the noise, shimo's small enough that you'll find something within a 5 minute walk

city country city is a solid bet, the back room gets loose after midnight and no one cares if you're dancing alone. if that feels too chill, three blocks up from the station there's this tiny basement bar called bar marugo, no cover and they play a weird mix of funk and 80s j-pop, the owner lets regulars take over the aux sometimes. just buy a chu-hi and you're golden, place is empty enough by 1am that you can flail around without bumping anyone

if u have a costco membership the kirkland thick cut is the move, 4 packs of 500g for around 2500 yen and it crisps up proper in a cold pan. for smaller runs, precce in azabudai hills & the basement at isetan shinjuku both carry imported US & danish brands in the chilled case, just read the label for "thick cut" or "smoked" and not "loin". also worth knowing japanese bacon is often wet-cured so pat it dry before frying or it steams instead of crisping

kaldi coffee farm is hit or miss but their smoked bacon from denmark shows up pretty regular, the 200g pack runs about 600 yen. what actually works better for me is asking the butcher counter at peacock or life to slice the block bacon thick, like 5mm, they do it for free and it crisps way better than the pre-packed stuff. also fwiw cheap bacon crisps faster, the fatty supermarket kind at 300 yen a pack works fine if u cook it from cold in a dry pan and pour off the fat as it renders.

tbh the gyomu super store brand bacon is surprisingly decent for crisping up, its not thick cut but if you cook it low and slow it gets pretty crunchy. the key is the dry cure vs wet cure thing, wet cure steams. also check hanamasa if you have one nearby, they sell big packs of american style bacon thats actually smoked and firm.
