Who wants to go to see pro boxing?

I'm planning to go see a boxing match next week to korakuen hall, I wanted to see if anyone wants to join too? Either Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday I'm planning to go see a boxing match next week to korakuen hall, I wanted to see if anyone wants to join too? Either Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday

Tickets for the B-grades at Korakuen are usually around 3,000 yen at the door if you buy standing room, but the real hack is checking Lawson Ticket the morning of for last-minute releases. The ring announcer does everything in Japanese but the action speaks for itself, and the crowd will let you know when something big happens by the way they all lean forward at once.

you're getting solid advice already but nobody mentioned the suidobashi area around the hall has those tiny standing sushi bars that are perfect for a solo pre-fight meal. one near the east exit does nigiri sets for like 1,500 yen and you're in and out in 20 minutes. also worth knowing the hall security is pretty relaxed about sneaking in your own drinks if you're discreet about it

tuesday's the move if you want to catch the post-fight crowd at Hoppy Street, it's a 10 min walk from the hall and stays buzzing til late. the standing tickets are 4,000 yen and you can actually see the ring fine from the back, the venue's small enough that nowhere feels far. just bring cash for the beer vending machines inside, they don't take cards and the cans are like 300 yen

if u have a costco membership the kirkland thick cut is the move, 4 packs of 500g for around 2500 yen and it crisps up proper in a cold pan. for smaller runs, precce in azabudai hills & the basement at isetan shinjuku both carry imported US & danish brands in the chilled case, just read the label for "thick cut" or "smoked" and not "loin". also worth knowing japanese bacon is often wet-cured so pat it dry before frying or it steams instead of crisping

kaldi coffee farm is hit or miss but their smoked bacon from denmark shows up pretty regular, the 200g pack runs about 600 yen. what actually works better for me is asking the butcher counter at peacock or life to slice the block bacon thick, like 5mm, they do it for free and it crisps way better than the pre-packed stuff. also fwiw cheap bacon crisps faster, the fatty supermarket kind at 300 yen a pack works fine if u cook it from cold in a dry pan and pour off the fat as it renders.

tbh the gyomu super store brand bacon is surprisingly decent for crisping up, its not thick cut but if you cook it low and slow it gets pretty crunchy. the key is the dry cure vs wet cure thing, wet cure steams. also check hanamasa if you have one nearby, they sell big packs of american style bacon thats actually smoked and firm.
