One practical thing: Waseda and Keio both interview shortlisted applicants, and that's where a lot of people slip up. They'll ask about your TEDx and MUN experience but also random stuff like what you think about Japan's aging population or why you picked their specific department over another. It's not meant to be stressful but they want to see you think on your feet. If you can, practice answering in front of someone who'll push back a bit. Sophia's FGC doesn't interview, so all your weight goes on the written application there.

tbh your predicted is solid for all three but i'd say waseda and keio care more about your actual interview performance than sophia does. the admissions officers at waseda especially like seeing specific reasons for choosing their program, not just generic "japan is cool" stuff. if u can name a prof or a research lab that interests u that goes a long way

for keio pekl they sometimes ask about current events in the interview so skim the japan times a bit before. sophia fgc is more relaxed but they do check if you've actually researched tokyo life, like knowing the difference between yotsuya and the main campus in chiyoda

honestly 39 predicted is solid for all three, waseda's spse or sils would be fine with that. keio's pekl is competitive but ur extracurriculars show leadership which matters a lot there. sophia's fgc is probably the easiest to get into of the three but they care about ur essay more than the score. just make sure ur recommendation letters are from teachers who actually know u, not just generic ones, that's where japanese unis differ from uk ones

if u have a costco membership the kirkland thick cut is the move, 4 packs of 500g for around 2500 yen and it crisps up proper in a cold pan. for smaller runs, precce in azabudai hills & the basement at isetan shinjuku both carry imported US & danish brands in the chilled case, just read the label for "thick cut" or "smoked" and not "loin". also worth knowing japanese bacon is often wet-cured so pat it dry before frying or it steams instead of crisping

kaldi coffee farm is hit or miss but their smoked bacon from denmark shows up pretty regular, the 200g pack runs about 600 yen. what actually works better for me is asking the butcher counter at peacock or life to slice the block bacon thick, like 5mm, they do it for free and it crisps way better than the pre-packed stuff. also fwiw cheap bacon crisps faster, the fatty supermarket kind at 300 yen a pack works fine if u cook it from cold in a dry pan and pour off the fat as it renders.

tbh the gyomu super store brand bacon is surprisingly decent for crisping up, its not thick cut but if you cook it low and slow it gets pretty crunchy. the key is the dry cure vs wet cure thing, wet cure steams. also check hanamasa if you have one nearby, they sell big packs of american style bacon thats actually smoked and firm.
