Where to buy pumpkin pie?

Does anyone know where to buy a pumpkin pie in preparation for Thanksgiving? Ideally near Chofu but willing to go further into the city if need be. Thanks in advance. if you're okay with a bit of a hike, the dean & deluca in shibuya gets frozen pumpkin pies from the states too. they're not cheap like 3000 yen or something but it's the real deal. from chofu you can take the keio line to shinjuku and hop on the fukutoshin line, maybe 40 min total

another option is the costco in fuchu which is prob the closest to you. you don't need a membership if you go with someone who has one, just tag along. their pies are massive though so be ready for leftovers

Check the freezer section at the Seijo Ishii in Chofu itself, they sometimes carry the small Mrs. Smith's frozen pies from the US around this time of year. It's right by the station so you can pop in on your way home and see if they have any in stock.

If you want something that's not a frozen pie, the cafe at the Jindai Botanical Gardens does a pumpkin tart with local ingredients during November. It's a seasonal menu item, not a take-home pie, but the filling uses Japanese pumpkin so it's sweeter and denser than the American version. Worth a stop if you're in the area anyway.

theres a place in shimokitazawa called pie hole that does proper american pies around thanksgiving, they do preorders on their website. i got one last year and it was legit, real pumpkin not squash. from chofu its like 30 mins on the keio line to shinjuku then a quick switch to the odakyu line

if you want something closer without going to costco, the pâtisserie in front of chofu station called au bon vieux temps sometimes does a pumpkin tart in november. its more french style but the flavor is solid and you can grab it on your way home from work

if u have a costco membership the kirkland thick cut is the move, 4 packs of 500g for around 2500 yen and it crisps up proper in a cold pan. for smaller runs, precce in azabudai hills & the basement at isetan shinjuku both carry imported US & danish brands in the chilled case, just read the label for "thick cut" or "smoked" and not "loin". also worth knowing japanese bacon is often wet-cured so pat it dry before frying or it steams instead of crisping

kaldi coffee farm is hit or miss but their smoked bacon from denmark shows up pretty regular, the 200g pack runs about 600 yen. what actually works better for me is asking the butcher counter at peacock or life to slice the block bacon thick, like 5mm, they do it for free and it crisps way better than the pre-packed stuff. also fwiw cheap bacon crisps faster, the fatty supermarket kind at 300 yen a pack works fine if u cook it from cold in a dry pan and pour off the fat as it renders.

tbh the gyomu super store brand bacon is surprisingly decent for crisping up, its not thick cut but if you cook it low and slow it gets pretty crunchy. the key is the dry cure vs wet cure thing, wet cure steams. also check hanamasa if you have one nearby, they sell big packs of american style bacon thats actually smoked and firm.
