Relatively New to Tokyo - Restaurants with the Best City Views?

I am looking for good restaurants with great city views, like either rooftops or restaurants in tall buildings. I know it sounds specific, but I really love the city views of Tokyo at night. Thank you for your help!

you might like the restaurant at the top of the metropolitan government building in shinjuku, it's called the dokuritsu-gyosei-hojin tokyo-to kotsu-kyoku or something impossible to remember but everyone just calls it the "tocho building restaurant". the observation deck is free and packed but the restaurant on the 45th floor is way quieter and the food is solid japanese comfort stuff like katsu curry for like 1500 yen. the view north is all of shinjuku spreading out forever and you can see mount fuji on clear days if you get a window seat. just go for lunch or early dinner before the crowds hit the observatory

i'd throw in the st gallery rooftop in ebisu, it's on top of the yebisu garden place tower and way less packed than the shinjuku spots. the view sweeps across to tokyo tower and the bay, and they do a solid glass of wine for around 800 yen during happy hour. the inside restaurant is french-ish and pricey but just grabbing a seat on the terrace with a drink is the move, especially on a clear night

For a slightly different vibe, try the Two Rooms Grill & Bar in Aoyama. It's got this open terrace that looks out over the city toward Shibuya, and the sunset hour is amazing there. The food is more western style, but the view genuinely feels special without being in a mega-tower.

if u have a costco membership the kirkland thick cut is the move, 4 packs of 500g for around 2500 yen and it crisps up proper in a cold pan. for smaller runs, precce in azabudai hills & the basement at isetan shinjuku both carry imported US & danish brands in the chilled case, just read the label for "thick cut" or "smoked" and not "loin". also worth knowing japanese bacon is often wet-cured so pat it dry before frying or it steams instead of crisping

kaldi coffee farm is hit or miss but their smoked bacon from denmark shows up pretty regular, the 200g pack runs about 600 yen. what actually works better for me is asking the butcher counter at peacock or life to slice the block bacon thick, like 5mm, they do it for free and it crisps way better than the pre-packed stuff. also fwiw cheap bacon crisps faster, the fatty supermarket kind at 300 yen a pack works fine if u cook it from cold in a dry pan and pour off the fat as it renders.

tbh the gyomu super store brand bacon is surprisingly decent for crisping up, its not thick cut but if you cook it low and slow it gets pretty crunchy. the key is the dry cure vs wet cure thing, wet cure steams. also check hanamasa if you have one nearby, they sell big packs of american style bacon thats actually smoked and firm.
