honestly if ur collection has any vintage or rare stuff, check out kindal in shimo-kitazawa. they're more selective than the big chains but actually pay closer to market value, especially for older jordan retros or asics from the 90s. just make sure ur shoes are clean and have the box if possible, they deduct like 30% for missing accessories. also worth knowing that most shops wont take more than 5-10 pairs at a time, so u might need to hit multiple spots over a few weekends
if you're near ueno, there's a couple spots in ameyoko market that specialize in sneakers. they're less touristy than the harajuku places and will actually negotiate if you bring a decent stack. just go during weekday mornings when they're not busy, you'll get a better deal.
for the mid-tier stuff that's not hype but still in good shape, i've had luck at treasure factory in kawasaki. they're not as picky as the specialty shops but you'll still get like 30-40% of what you'd see on stockx. just don't expect them to know what a grail is, they treat everything like used shoes.
one thing nobody mentioned - if you got anything with mold or smell issues, toss em. most shops here are brutal about that and will reject on the spot. better to just list those on mercari with clear photos and let someone deal with cleaning em themselves.
depends what brands u have honestly. if it's jordan or nike hype stuff, check out used sports in shibuya or book off super bazaar in hachioji - they buy on the spot but lowball hard. for higher end stuff like balenciaga or rick owens, try rag tag in omotesando or 2nd street in shinjuku, they know the resell game better. if u don't mind the work, yahoo auctions japan or mercari will get u better prices but u gotta deal with shipping and people flaking. just bring id (residence card) and expect to show proof of purchase if the items are new-ish.

if u have a costco membership the kirkland thick cut is the move, 4 packs of 500g for around 2500 yen and it crisps up proper in a cold pan. for smaller runs, precce in azabudai hills & the basement at isetan shinjuku both carry imported US & danish brands in the chilled case, just read the label for "thick cut" or "smoked" and not "loin". also worth knowing japanese bacon is often wet-cured so pat it dry before frying or it steams instead of crisping
kaldi coffee farm is hit or miss but their smoked bacon from denmark shows up pretty regular, the 200g pack runs about 600 yen. what actually works better for me is asking the butcher counter at peacock or life to slice the block bacon thick, like 5mm, they do it for free and it crisps way better than the pre-packed stuff. also fwiw cheap bacon crisps faster, the fatty supermarket kind at 300 yen a pack works fine if u cook it from cold in a dry pan and pour off the fat as it renders.
tbh the gyomu super store brand bacon is surprisingly decent for crisping up, its not thick cut but if you cook it low and slow it gets pretty crunchy. the key is the dry cure vs wet cure thing, wet cure steams. also check hanamasa if you have one nearby, they sell big packs of american style bacon thats actually smoked and firm.
