Moving soon to Takenotsuka. Any recommendations for scenic jogging spots? Any foreigners community meetup by any chance?

fwiw there's a nice loop around the Takenotsuka park itself if you don't wanna go all the way to the river, it's small but has a few hills which is rare in adachi. the path by the shinden canal is also decent, quieter than the arakawa and has sakura trees if you're here in spring

for meetups the adachi international lounge is your best bet but honestly most foreigner stuff happens in kita-senju or further south. there's a weekly friday night run group that starts from nishi-nippori station, they're on insta as "tokyo explorers club" or something, pretty chill crowd and they sometimes do routes up toward takenotsuka

honestly Takenotsuka is pretty residential but you're not far from the Arakawa river which has a solid running path. I'd head west toward the riverbank, it's flat and goes for miles with a nice view of the skyline. way better than running on the main streets

for foreigner meetups, there's not much in Takenotsuka itself but you can hop on the Tobu Isesaki line to Kitasenju or even Asakusa for events. Kitasenju has a few casual language exchange groups that meet at cafes, check Meetup or Facebook groups for "Tokyo runners" or "Tokyo international" stuff. I've seen a few posts about weekend jogs along the Arakawa with mixed crowds

if you want a change of pace from the river try the path around the tobu dobutsu koen area, it's a bit north on the isesaki line and has a big park with a zoo, the running loop there is about 3k and way greener than the concrete riverbanks

for meeting people there's a small monthly meetup at the nishiarai daishi temple grounds sometimes, they do a morning walk and talk thing, i saw it on the adachi city events page. not a huge foreigner scene but it's a start

if u have a costco membership the kirkland thick cut is the move, 4 packs of 500g for around 2500 yen and it crisps up proper in a cold pan. for smaller runs, precce in azabudai hills & the basement at isetan shinjuku both carry imported US & danish brands in the chilled case, just read the label for "thick cut" or "smoked" and not "loin". also worth knowing japanese bacon is often wet-cured so pat it dry before frying or it steams instead of crisping

kaldi coffee farm is hit or miss but their smoked bacon from denmark shows up pretty regular, the 200g pack runs about 600 yen. what actually works better for me is asking the butcher counter at peacock or life to slice the block bacon thick, like 5mm, they do it for free and it crisps way better than the pre-packed stuff. also fwiw cheap bacon crisps faster, the fatty supermarket kind at 300 yen a pack works fine if u cook it from cold in a dry pan and pour off the fat as it renders.

tbh the gyomu super store brand bacon is surprisingly decent for crisping up, its not thick cut but if you cook it low and slow it gets pretty crunchy. the key is the dry cure vs wet cure thing, wet cure steams. also check hanamasa if you have one nearby, they sell big packs of american style bacon thats actually smoked and firm.
