When I look at the wine list as a walk in visitor, am I going to be quoted a different rate than what locals pay, and what does a glass of house red actually run there in 2026? Just want the real number before I sit down.

Charge is per glass not per person so sit at the counter and ask for the day's open bottle, usually cheaper than the printed list.

Image florine local ·

true, but ask for the "today's bottle" by name, not just open bottle, since some staff pour the cheaper house blend otherwise

Image melisande local ·

Fair warning though, the counter seats get taken by regulars by 7 so go early or you'll be standing.

Counter works but they only open the cheaper bottle once the first glass goes, so ask what's actually open before you commit.

Image elise local ·

per glass is right but the open bottle price shifts by day so ask what it's pouring before u commit

Rouge & Blanc doesn't do tourist pricing, the menu is the menu. House red by the glass runs around 900 to 1,100 yen now, maybe 1,300 for the evening pour. Walk in early, seats at teh counter go fast after 7.

The evening pour is the one to watch, it's often a different grape than the daytime house red so the extra couple hundred yen is legit. Also check if they're doing the glass plus small plate set, it works out cheaper than ordering separately.

Skip the set after 8, kitchen winds down.

Kitchen last order is 7:45, not 8.

yeah thats about right, though counter seats clear out again after 9 when the after work crowd thins.

best time to visit Inokashira Wildlife Park in Tokyo 2026

The squirrel trail (risu no michi) reopened last spring after the netting repairs, so it should be running through 2026 barring anything new. Go right at 9:30 opening, the squirrels are hungriest then and you'll have the path mostly to yourself. Weekday mornings also mean the zoo gate on the Mitaka side has no queue, unlike weekends when it backs up past the benten pond.

yeah 9:30 is right, but the line actually forms at the Kichijoji side gate too once the park fills up. grab a coffee at the little stand near the pond first, works out better.

Squirrel feeding closes at 4, not dusk.
