best pastries at Levain & Co Tokyo 2026?
go for the croissant over shokupan imo, the shokupan is fine but teh laminated stuff is where they actually stand out. weekends the queue at the Aoyama spot runs 20-30 min around 10am, weekdays after 2pm you basically walk in.
the pain au chocolat is the actual sleeper
shibuya food show counter is the quieter option & their matcha croissant only shows up before noon
Matcha one's gone by 11 most days, and Food Show gets a proper restock around 3 so afternoon beats the morning rush.
shinjuku south exit branch, opens 8
takashimaya basement counter, opens 10
yeah & weekday mornings before 9 are dead too
agreed but weekends at 2pm still packed tbh
ginza branch, sunday 4pm is fine
Correct, but the kouign-amann sells out first.
Where to find good bagels near Hole in One in Tokyo 2026
Hole in One's more of a grab-and-go counter, people take bagels to Yoyogi Park a few blocks over rather than lingering.
Maruichi Bagel in Shibuya, worth the extra walk.
Same owners as the Ebisu shop, so quality's consistent
Fair, though the tiny benches out front do fill up on weekend mornings with regulars nursing a coffee. Weekday after 2pm they start discounting the day's leftovers, which is when I usually swing by.
the 2pm thing only holds Tue to Thu, friday theyre gone by noon
Agreed, though the benches out front fill up by 9am on Saturdays.
yeah sunday's worse, closer to 8:30
By 7:30 the benches are half full anyway, mostly joggers who've just finished a loop through Sendagaya.
True, though most people I know walk the other way to Shinjuku Gyoen instead, quieter and you can actually sit.
honestly most ppl do walk to Yoyogi but I usually just eat mine standing outside the shop. the queue moves fast so its not really a sit-down vibe either way. kinda depends if u get a window seat
