Levain's shokupan sells out by 11 most weekends, so go at opening. Skip the sourdough and get the curry pan or the fig and walnut loaf instead. The one near you is the original in Sangenjaya, right?

yeah but the fig walnut is honestly better sliced thin and toasted, straight from the bag it's kinda dense
Fig walnut is Tuesday and Friday only, so check the calendar before you plan the trip.
curry pan is the sleeper pick there, grab it warm if u can. sourdough is fine but not worth a detour when u have that much good bread within a few blocks. how early u planning to get there
Original in Sangenjaya, yes, and the line starts before the 9am opening on weekends, so being there by 8:45 actually matters.
the sourdough there is decent but i wouldnt plan a whole morning around it tbh. if u want proper sourdough in that area just wander a bit and check the smaller bakeries, some are better
Shokupan's gone even earlier on rainy days, and the tiny kissaten two doors down opens at 7 if you're stuck waiting.
Sangenjaya's the one, but the machiya across the street is the real sourdough.
