Hops Hall in Tokyo 2026: still worth living nearby?
tbh the area around there has gotten quieter since the old spot closed, but the new craft beer place (I think it's called Watering Hole, near Yoyogi) keeps some foot traffic. Rent's still reasonable by Shibuya standards, maybe 90k for a 1K. I'd live there if you don't mind a 10 min walk to teh station.
nah Watering Hole's been around for years, it didn't take over that spot. pretty sure the old Hops Hall unit is still empty or turned into something else entirely. rents crept up a bit too, more like 105k now for a decent 1K.

Fair point on the split unit, I noticed the standing bar side too. But I'd push back on the rent figure: listings near Sendagaya station are closer to 115k for a decent 1K now, since the new office towers went up.
Both halves filled, actually.
Rent's more like 100k now, and that ten minute walk gets old fast in summer.

weekday mornings r the move now, sat queue starts around 7:40 & the layout killed the old corner table i used to camp at
still opens 7 on sat, got there at 7:10 last month and had my pick of seats. coffee's held up, the layout just made the window counter tighter so it feels busier than it is. go before 8 & ur fine
yeah 7:40 is when it flips, before that ur good
the window counter thing is real but the back room by the washroom stayed quiet when i went at 7:15
Agree on the 7:10 window, though I'd grab the back room by the washroom since the window counter gets cramped once the sun hits.
7:10's the sweet spot, pastries go by 9
Coffee quality hasn't slipped but the pastry case got smaller and the seating is more first-come chaos now.
