Where to find Vintage Avenue in Tokyo 2026

Does anyone know the actual address and whether they carry men's pieces or mostly womenswear? I'd rather hear from someone who's been than guess from old blog posts.

There's a small Vintage Avenue branch on the second floor near Koenji's north exit, above the yakitori place. mostly 80s and 90s stuff, mens jackets in the back left corner. prices are a bit higher than the Koenji average, like 4000 to 6000 for decent pieces. heads up they close at 7 and are shut on Wednesdays

back rack mens flannels run small, size up

arrow_drop_up 4 arrow_drop_down

Image magdalene local ·

that second floor spot moved to a bigger unit on the same street last spring, so the yakitori landmark is stale

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down

the one in Shimokitazawa off the south exit is mostly womenswear but the back rack has decent mens flannels, prob 3000 yen each

arrow_drop_up 4 arrow_drop_down
Image lina local ·

yeah those flannels are solid but check the sleeve length, a lot of them are cropped for the japanese market

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down

Cropped sleeves are the norm here, so check the cuff hits your wrist bone before committing.

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

Sizing runs small on those flannels so try before buying, and the shop sits a couple doors past the Uniqlo on the ichibangai side.

Agreed on trying things on, but the ichibangai branch you're describing is women's only now, they moved the men's stock out last year. For guys it's worth the ride to the Nishi-Ogikubo shotengai shop instead, quieter and better racks.

best donuts near The Donut Shop in Tokyo 2026

honestly the matcha white choco seasonal is worth trying once but its real sweet so split it w someone. if u want a backup spot, the little kissaten two blocks down on the side street does a decent old fashioned cake donut for like 280 yen. plain glazed still wins tho imo

arrow_drop_up 25 arrow_drop_down
Image amely local ·

Matcha white choco is a once-a-season thing for me too, that sweetness builds after two bites. That kissaten's old fashioned is solid but cash only, I got caught out last month with just my Suica. Which side street are you thinking of, the one off the shotengai?

arrow_drop_up 4 arrow_drop_down

go early for that old fashioned too, they stop frying around noon & the case goes stale by 3

arrow_drop_up 10 arrow_drop_down

Image sabrine local ·

wait they do an old fashioned? i only ever got coffee there. is it on teh counter or do u have to ask? cash only is a pain but 280 is a steal

the seasonal ones rotate too fast to bother with tbh, stick to the plain glazed or the kinako if they have it. i usually grab mine before 9 since the fryer batch is freshest then & the line on the weekend is brutal

arrow_drop_up 20 arrow_drop_down

Agree on the before 9 tip, though I'd say the weekend line moves faster than it looks since they pre-box the glazed.

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down
Image amely local ·

Pre-boxing only helps if you're buying plain glazed, ask for kinako on a Sunday and you're still waiting while they box it fresh.

arrow_drop_up 3 arrow_drop_down

yeah before 9 is the move, kinako sells out first tho so grab that before the glazed

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

Image katrina local ·

Kinako's the one that surprises people, way more interesting than the glazed imo. Only thing is it goes dry by afternoon so morning really is the move, not just for the fryer batch.

weekend line backs up past the vending machine by 10, so 9 is already pushing it
