the counter at common place actually wants the address on ur jūminhyō to match the ward u pay residence tax in, so if u moved mid year bring the old one too. also go early, the tuesday slot fills before noon

Worth adding that the tax ward match is checked against your kazei shōmeisho, so bring that too if you moved in the last year.

They usually want your jūminhyō with the current address on it, taken within the last month or so. A utility bill works too if it's in your name, but the jūminhyō is safer since the counter staff see it every day.

Jūminhyō only, they turn away the kōshin cards.

Kōshin cards stopped counting after the 2023 rule change, so that tracks.

Mine was accepted last April at the Shinjuku counter with a copy from the day before, so the freshness rule isn't strict. Bring the genjūminhyō with the my number redacted, they're fussy about that now.

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down

utility bill needs to be under 3 months old or they bounce it, same rule as the ward office

tbh just bring both, saves u a trip back

Yeah and grab the jūminhyō at your ward office counter rather than the konbini copy, since they stamp the official one.

Agree, and ask for the genjūminhyō by name, not just jūminhyō.

Also curious how people here handle overlapping with a US or Europe team, do you just accept the late nights or shift your hours? 🎢

nuuro 2g, 7pm calls kill me

10pm is worse, whole block streaming.

Check if your building is wired for hikari fiber first, since many older mansions only offer VDSL and that's what actually tanks your calls.
