Is Slice & Co worth it on its own or should I walk somewhere else nearby? Any slice spots within ten minutes of there that locals actually rate?

Savoy's the move if you'll trek to Azabu Juban, but for late nights I just hit the konbini hot snack case or FamilyMart pizza buns, no joke.

Yeah the konbini case saves you past 10.

slice & co is fine but i'd walk to pizza studio tamaki near shiba park for a sit down pie, or grab a standing slice at napule if ur near azabu. honestly the 500 yen asakusa-style slices at saizeriya scratch the late night itch too, no shame

Tamaki's counter fills by 6, go at 5:30.

Saizeriya's the one open past midnight, most others shut by 10.

tamaki does a solid margherita but the shiba park branch queues move slow after 7. if ur near azabu anyway, napule's standing counter is better value than most sit downs around there. just check the hours, they close earlier than u think

Tokyo dating 2026: where do people actually meet?

Is Tapped in Shibuya the kind of place where people actually strike up conversations, or do you mostly meet through apps and work? Curious what surprised foreigners most about the norms.
arrow_drop_up 6 arrow_drop_down

the app that actually leads somewhere is Pairs, not Tinder. people treat goukon (group blind dates) seriously, often set up by a friend at work. ngl the surprise for foreigners is how slow things move before anyone admits it's a date.

arrow_drop_up 4 arrow_drop_down

pairs users actually meet up too, just takes 3 dates

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

Tapped works but konkatsu parties and mixers at places like Hub are where most actual dates start, apps included.

hub mixers skew heavy to konkatsu paperwork so ppl treat them like interviews, tbh the standing bar at the shibuya hub is where actual chatting happens

arrow_drop_up 4 arrow_drop_down

Standing side after 8pm, seated rooms are dead.

mostly the standing bar side, not the seated mixer rooms

Fair, though the Hub crowd skews older konkatsu; younger folks mostly pair off at nomikai or through friends.

Apps get you the first date but the real filter is whether they'll introduce you to their friends after a few months.

Honestly the places that surprise people are the niche interest bars, like the board game cafes in Nakano or the rock bars in Koenji. People go for the hobby and end up talking for hours, which beats a loud club. Foreigners are often thrown by how direct Japanese women can be once you're past the tatemae small talk.

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down
Image diana local ·

yeah the directness thing is real, and golden kamuy at the Koenji rock bars is where the actual friend groups form after two or three visits
