honestly if you're already at Market Deli just walk 3 min to Doutor on the corner, their katsu sando is cheaper and the coffee's fine. not fancy but tbh I grab it more than the deli these days.
Fair warning the Doutor katsu sando sells out by about 1:30, so go before the office crowd hits.
yeah 1:30 is optimistic on fridays, i've seen them gone by 12:45 when the sales team orders in bulk
The tamago sando at the Family Mart two blocks past Doutor is the real sleeper, way better than it has any right to be.
7-11's version beats it if u get there before the egg salad gets scooped, they use the softer shokupan

honestly the room changed when they put the two-tops along the wall by the bathroom, used to be standing room and now it feels like a cafe. if u go, aim for tue or wed around 7, you walk straight in. otherwise Ebisu Yokocho is a short stumble and the standing bars there don't care about lines.
those two-tops killed the old bar counter vibe, though the tiny back room off the kitchen still has the original standing rail if u ask
That back room fills by 8 now, so ask the staff early or you're stuck standing by the kitchen door.

Been climbing those stairs since before the renovation, it's still the move if you want quiet. The trick is the side door off the alley, staff let regulars in there when the main queue backs up. Ring the bell twice, not once.
