Best amusement parks in Tokyo 2026 for a first visit

Is Funland in Yokohama worth the trip compared to the bigger parks, and how much should I budget for tickets plus food?

funland in yokohama is small, like half a day tops, and the rides are aimed at families with young kids. for a proper day out from central tokyo i'd do yomiuriland instead, keio line from shinjuku gets u there in about 25 min. budget roughly 6000 to 8000 yen for a ride pass plus 2000 to 3000 on food, the park eats are pricey

yeah and the keio line gets packed on weekends, go weekday

weekday mornings before 9 are dead quiet too, and the keio line empties out past chofu so grab a seat there

yomiuriland's evening pool and illumination in spring are worth staying for, so don't rush back before dark.

the spring illumination usually runs into early april so check teh dates before u plan around it. pool doesnt open till summer tho, thats a different thing entirely.

agreed on the half day thing, funland's basically a kids park. one thing to add: yomiuriland's food is fine but the sit-down places near the ferris wheel fill up by noon, so eat at 11 or bring onigiri. also the keio line fare is about 400 yen each way from shinjuku.

Working from a Tokyo pub in 2026: wifi and hours?

Does anyone know if the wifi holds up there and what hours people usually keep when overlapping with a UK or US team?

the crown, upstairs quiet till 5

Upstairs is right, but the wifi drops on the balcony, so grab an inside table if you're on a call.

Balcony's also useless once it rains, and nobody warns u the inside tables near the stairs get all the foot traffic noise.

Corner table by the window, that's the one.

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down

honestly it stays quiet past 5 too, most nights it only fills up after 7 or 8

arrow_drop_up 8 arrow_drop_down

yeah that tracks, the after work rush is definitely later. only thing i'd add is friday, it can get going by like 6 if the weather's decent. otherwise ur right, plenty of quiet

arrow_drop_up 0 arrow_drop_down

Dies down nearer 3 on weekdays, not 5.

Food matters if you're camping there for a US overlap. Kitchen runs a decent lunch but goes quiet mid-afternoon, so order before 3 or you're stuck with bar snacks till evening. For a West Coast call, that's a late one, past midnight JST, so I'd take the early shift and hand off instead of pulling an all-nighter.

arrow_drop_up 3 arrow_drop_down

ask staff for the password, it's not posted anywhere & changes monthly. for a UK overlap i'd start around 4pm jst, that's early morning there. keep ur laptop charger in mind, outlets are sparse near the bar

outlets by the window wall are teh good ones
