Common Place garden: best time to visit in 2026?

Coming to Tokyo in spring 2026 and Common Place keeps coming up. Is the garden worth a detour and when is it least crowded? Any entry quirks I should know about? went on a weekday morning around 9 and had it mostly to myself, but note it's a cafe garden in Kanda, not a big destination one.

Agree it's tiny, but the 2F terrace seats fill up fast by noon on weekends, so go before 11 if you want one.

Worth adding it's inside the Ogawamachi 3-chome block, so you'll walk past it if you're cutting between Jinbocho and Kanda Station. The garden itself is small, maybe five minutes of looking, so treat it as a coffee stop rather than a detour.

the iced coffee is the real draw tbh

Their matcha latte's better if you're not heatproof.

ha, fair. ask for it less sweet tho, default is pretty sugary

yeah 9am midweek is the sweet spot, though I'd aim for Tue to Thu since Fri gets a small office lunch bump.

tue to thu also dodges the wednesday delivery truck that blocks the little side path for a bit

Good call on the timing. One thing you'll notice is how quiet it gets between waves of office workers. The garden is really just planters around the cafe, so set expectations low.

Spring 2026 timing is tricky since the garden's plantings shift, so check their Instagram the week you go, and note they close on Mondays.

Is Funland in Yokohama worth the trip compared to the bigger parks, and how much should I budget for tickets plus food?

funland in yokohama is small, like half a day tops, and the rides are aimed at families with young kids. for a proper day out from central tokyo i'd do yomiuriland instead, keio line from shinjuku gets u there in about 25 min. budget roughly 6000 to 8000 yen for a ride pass plus 2000 to 3000 on food, the park eats are pricey

yeah and the keio line gets packed on weekends, go weekday

weekday mornings before 9 are dead quiet too, and the keio line empties out past chofu so grab a seat there

yomiuriland's evening pool and illumination in spring are worth staying for, so don't rush back before dark.
