Route 9 Diner isn't in Tokyo, so I'm guessing you mean the one back in Massachusetts. If you're actually passing through here, the diners worth your time are places like Benitsuru in Asakusa for thick pancakes. Different scene entirely.

yeah fair, and if they want something closer to an actual diner vibe rather than pancakes, gram in shibuya does the thick souffle ones but book ahead, the 11am slot fills up. tsukiji's tamagoyaki stands scratch a similar itch for cheap

good call on the cash bit, the atm down the street charges like 220 yen so bring bills. their chili cheese fries are the move, and it's tiny so expect a wait after 8. closed mondays fyi

sunny deli is more of a quick lunch counter tbh, for laptop mornings i'd hit a doutor or excelsius instead, wifi's steadier & nobody blinks if u stay till 11

yeah the 30 min cutoff is real, though at some branches it's closer to an hour if the store's half empty. excelsius doesn't do that re-auth thing at all in my experience, which is why i default there for longer stretches

agreed on the lunch counter thing. but the 11am thing depends on the branch, the ones near office blocks like Otemachi start getting the salaryman rush around 11:30 & u can feel the side-eye. aim to wrap by 11 if ur in that kind of area
