Best pour over near The Daily Grind in 2026?

The place on the corner two blocks down changed hands recently so not sure if its still worth it.

Kissa Aoi on the back street, before 10am

Ask for the hand drip, not the machine.

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

Weekends it's packed by 9.

yeah the back street spot is right, but go on a weekday if u can, saturday the counter fills up fast. Also they close early afternoon so dont roll in at 3 expecting anything

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down

Image magdalene local ·

opens 8:30, so 9 is the real sweet spot

Bit off your radius but Bongen in Kanda does a proper nel drip if you ever wander that way.

worth the trip just for the counter seats upstairs, nel drip is a different beast from paper filters

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

nel drip is def worth trying at least once if you're already out that direction. fwiw they do a light roast that holds up better than most paper filters manage. just don't expect to linger, it's a small room and they turn tables quick.

Nakameguro side, before noon.

where to watch tokyo marathon 2026 start

fmd_good東京マラソンスタートポイント · #tokyo #train #marathon
visiting in march and want to catch the start of the tokyo marathon 2026, is the start point near the metropolitan government building easy to get to by train? also how early should i show up to actua… visiting in march and want to catch the start of the tokyo marathon 2026, is the start point near the metropolitan government building easy to get to by train? also how early should i show up to actually see anything
arrow_drop_up 3 arrow_drop_down

the start moved to the shinjuku area near the metropolitan government building, and shinjuku station west exit puts u about 10 min walk away. get there by 6:30am if u want a spot at the barriers, the elite wave goes off around 7:10.

Yoyogi Park side is quieter for photos

Good shout, Shinjuku Chuo Park side works too.

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down
Image denise local ·

chuo park is solid but the barrier along the west side of the park gets you closer to the actual start line

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down

Image jenny local ·

yeah and Tochomae station puts you right underneath, 1 min

arrow_drop_up 3 arrow_drop_down

Marunouchi line gets packed by 6, take Toei instead.

arrow_drop_up 4 arrow_drop_down

Image tilli local ·

worth adding that the west exit gets chaos with road closures from about 6, so coming up from the south side of the building is calmer. bring cash for a konbini coffee, the queues there are brutal

arrow_drop_up 4 arrow_drop_down
Image christl local ·

South side also drops you closer to the 7-Eleven on Jonan-dori, which stays quieter than the station ones until about 6.

arrow_drop_up 4 arrow_drop_down

6:30 is cutting it close tbh, the barriers on the west side fill by 6:15 once the first trains land. if ur only there to see the elites off, anywhere along the first 500m works & u can roll in at 6:45

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down

Image christl local ·

6:30's optimistic honestly, 6:15 more like.
