Best bagels near Hole in One Tokyo 2026

fmd_goodHole in One · #tokyo #dinner #bagels
I'm visiting in spring 2026 and staying within walking distance of Hole in One. Are there any good bagel spots around there, and is the area safe to walk back through late at night after dinner? Maruichi Bagel in Ebisu, 15 min walk south, opens 10am.

Image helene local ·

Closes Tuesdays, so plan around that.

Good call, though I think they sell out of the popular ones well before noon, so earlier is safer.

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down

They also do a decent everything bagel if u get there early, but the line on weekends starts before opening. Walking back north at night is fine, just stick to the main streets past the station rather than the side lanes.

The walk south is more like 20 minutes once you account for the station detour, so factor that in. If you're going that far, grab a seat in the shop rather than taking it to go, the sandwiches hold up much better fresh.

Hole in One is in Shibuya, so honestly skip bagels and hit the depachika at Tokyu Food Show instead; the walk back is safe, just avoid the Center-gai touts.

Image melisande local ·

Fair, but Bongen Coffee does solid drip if you want a caffeine stop before the depachika run.

arrow_drop_up 4 arrow_drop_down

Tokyu Food Show closes at 8pm sharp so don't count on it for a late dinner run.

Second this, the Hachiko exit gets quiet after 11.

Best charcoal grill spots near Charcoal Yard in Tokyo 2026

fmd_goodCharcoal Yard · #grill #yakiniku #binchotan
Anyone else hit up Charcoal Yard in Shibuya for the yakiniku? The binchotan they use gives everything that smoky edge, but I'm curious if there are other grill spots nearby worth trying in 2026. Drop… Anyone else hit up Charcoal Yard in Shibuya for the yakiniku? Try Sumibi Yakiniku Nakahara in Ichigaya, they age their beef and grill over binchotan too, but book at least a week ahead or you'll be stuck waiting.

arrow_drop_up 3 arrow_drop_down

Yakiniku Jumbo in Kagurazaka, walk-ins before 6.

arrow_drop_up 5 arrow_drop_down

Jumbo's walk-in window is real but the Kagurazaka branch fills by 5:45 on weekends, so aim for a Tuesday or Wednesday if u can.

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

Image elise local ·

the counter seats at Nakahara are the move if u go solo, they sometimes squeeze one in same day

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down

Second this, but ask for the counter.

Agreed on the week-ahead booking, though their lunch set is the real steal and you can usually walk in around 11:30.

arrow_drop_up 4 arrow_drop_down
Image magdalene local ·

lunch queue starts forming closer to 11 so id get there by 10:45 if u actually want that set

arrow_drop_up 4 arrow_drop_down

Shibuya's a bit thin for good binchotan. I usually hop the Inokashira line one stop to Shinsen and hit a tiny horumon place on the corner, no name out front, just a red lantern. Go early, they sell out of the good cuts by 8.

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down
Image elselotte local ·

red lantern place closed in march, new tenant now

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down
Image mirjam local ·

yeah that spot shut down, walked past it in april and the lanterns gone. new tenant does tachinomi now, decent but no grills. if u want horumon round there theres a place two blocks toward Dogenzaka, basement level, still open til late.
