Far end reopened in March, benches still the old ones.

Benches got swapped in April, actually.

the wooden slats got replaced around may i think, but the concrete bases are still the original ones from before

I thought the slats went in later, closer to June, and they only did the ones facing the water.

Slats were the cheap cedar, bases fine honestly.

Bases being original makes sense, they're poured concrete so nothing to swap, though the anchor bolts underneath did get retorqued at some point.

yeah the fence came down but i ran past last week and the last stretch by the bridge still has that gravel patch. prob from the construction. give it a bit before u count on a clean line

Gravel's been gone since early May, ran it Tuesday

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down
Image cora local ·

Still a soft patch right before the bridge though

funny, i walked that stretch on sunday and those slats looked pretty fresh to me. maybe they only did part of it? honestly the whole path could use another pass.

Should I o… Heads up for anyone running Tokyo Marathon 2026: the start area near the Metropolitan Government Building is basically card and cash only for gear, and some stalls won't take foreign cards. Should I open a Japan bank account before the race or just rely on a travel card and withdraw yen at 7-Eleven ATMs? Also curious how you handle getting paid back by friends if you're splitting costs.

7-Eleven ATMs, skip the bank account.
