Working from Tokyo clubs in 2026?

If you're regularly out at places like Pulse in Shibuya, what's your setup for internet and quiet hours, and how late do you usually stay before calling it?

Last train at 12:34, work from home after.

Saikyo line's the one that actually runs that late

Image olivia local ·

That only holds for the Yamanote and a few others. On the Toyoko line the final departure from Shibuya is closer to 12:20, so I plan around that if I'm heading west. WFH the next morning is the only thing that makes it work.

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down

Agreed, though I'd add the 12:34 only gets you as far as your home station, so budget the walk plus a shower before you're actually asleep.

Same, but wfh only works if u actually sleep by 2

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

Working from home only helps if you actually log off by 1, otherwise the 9am standup is brutal.

The 12:34 gets you home but you're still wired till 2, so I block my calendar till 10 and skip the morning call.

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

Round One's wifi is solid but the smoking floor kills it, so I grab the non-smoking booth and leave by 2.

arrow_drop_up 5 arrow_drop_down

Pulse stays loud past 4, so I book a capsule near Shibuya Crossing and nap before the first train rather than fight the last one.

Capsule wifi dies around 2, bring a pocket router.

Old Town Gardens in Tokyo 2026: worth a visit?

fmd_goodOld Town Gardens · #tokyo #gardens #visit
Stopping in Tokyo for a few days in 2026 and saw Old Town Gardens mentioned. Is it worth the detour and what's the best time of day to go? Also curious if there's an entry fee. honestly I'm not sure "Old Town Gardens" is a real name here, sounds like a tour-brochure label. If you mean the traditional gardens, Kyu-Shiba-rikyu near Hamamatsucho is the easy one, 300 yen, opens 9am and the morning light over the pond is best before tour buses show at 10.30. Kiyosumi is quieter and my pick, though it's a bit out of the way. Check teh garden's closed days before you go, most shut Mondays.

kyu-shiba closes 4.30 so go early, & kiyosumi's 500 yen now with the teahouse matcha extra

the teahouse matcha is cash only btw

yeah its not an official name, more of a generic tourist phrase. kiyosumi is my usual too but the teahouse gets packed on weekends, go weekday if u can

Hama-rikyu next door is the better detour if you want the teahouse on the water, 300 yen too.

plus the boat across the pond is the real draw

fair point on the name, I've only ever seen it in English tour listings. one thing to add, the smaller neighborhood gardens like Mukojima Hyakkaen are cheap too and almost empty on weekday mornings. just bring coins, some gates are cash only.
