Visiting Local House church in Tokyo 2026, what to expect?

I'm planning a trip to Tokyo in spring 2026 and saw Local House listed as a church. Is it an English-friendly congregation and do they meet on Sunday mornings? Local House runs a small English service Sunday at 10:30 in Shibuya, but check their site since the spring schedule shifts with the university calendar.

They also do a Tuesday evening thing in Nakameguro.

Starts at 11 actually, or did last month.

Ah that 11am shift tracks with the uni calendar, but the spring term usually pushes it back to 10:30 once Waseda and Sophia are back in session.

Depends on the term, ours flipped back mid-April.

yeah it drifted to 11 for a bit there. i think the venue booking changed so the morning slot moved later, worth checking the week you go. parking around there on a sunday is a nightmare fwiw

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

same site lists a 9am prayer slot too

Expect a potluck style lunch after the service, so bring something small if you can.

Bring cash, their donation box is cash only.

Central Park Tokyo 2026: still worth the crowds?

fmd_goodCentral Park · #park #kichijoji #inokashira
central park in kichijoji has gotten so packed on weekends, is it even worth going anymore or should i just hit inokashira on a weekday morning instead? feels like it was way quieter a few years back,… central park in kichijoji has gotten so packed on weekends, is it even worth going anymore or should i just hit inokashira on a weekday morning instead? feels like it was way quieter a few years back, what do locals do now when they wanna chill outside without the crowds

honestly inokashira on a tuesday morning before 9 is dead quiet, thats when i go now, weekends there are just as bad as central park these days.

Tuesday before 9 works, weekends are a lost cause.

Same for Zenpukuji, quieter side of the pond.

Weekend afternoons at Wadabori koen along the Zenpukuji river are usually pretty empty, locals just grab a bench by the water.
