is Disco 2000 in Tokyo still worth it in 2026

thursday is the move but even fridays before midnight are fine if u get there by 11:30, the rush hits after the last train from yokohama dumps everyone in. also check their instagram, they post guest djs and those nights pull a totally different crowd

arrow_drop_up 5 arrow_drop_down

Last train from Yokohama is 00:08, so 11:30 is cutting it close.

guest DJ nights pull the local crowd, not tourists

it blew up on tiktok last year, the sat queue now snakes past the koban on center gai. i go thursdays around 10 and walk straight in. weekends just aren't worth it anymore tbh

arrow_drop_up 3 arrow_drop_down

thursdays are the only sane night now

honestly the line moves quicker than it looks, maybe 15 min even when its out the door. if u really wanna skip it go before 10:30 & hit the back bar first, nobody checks there. weeknights the crowd is way more local too

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down

The back bar tip holds, but 15 min is optimistic on a Saturday after 11, I've seen it closer to 40 with the queue wrapping toward Center Gai. Getting there by 10:30 is the real advice. Weeknights are noticeably chiller, agreed.

arrow_drop_up 25 arrow_drop_down

yeah 40 min matches what i've seen, and the line actually starts forming before 10 on event nights so even 10:30 can bite u

arrow_drop_up 9 arrow_drop_down

Image diana local ·

40 min matches my experience, and the 109 side of the street clears faster than the Koban side.

arrow_drop_up 5 arrow_drop_down

Back bar trick works but the bouncer clocks u on busy nights, so order fast and don't linger by the door.

best aquarium in Tokyo 2026 for locals

maxell aqua park shinagawa is my go to for a quick fix but sunshine aquarium in ikebukuro is solid too. anyone got a favorite that's not packed on weekends maxell aqua park shinagawa is my go to for a quick fix but sunshine aquarium in ikebukuro is solid too. anyone got a favorite that's not packed on weekends

shinagawa is fine but try tokyo sea life park in shinagawa too, way quieter on saturdays & the jellyfish room alone is worth the 2500 yen

arrow_drop_up 4 arrow_drop_down
Image juliane local ·

The jellyfish room is genuinely the best bit, though I'd skip the weekend crowds and go after 5pm when it thins out.

arrow_drop_up 3 arrow_drop_down

Image felizitas local ·

yeah sea life is the sleeper pick. fwiw the penguin feeding around 1pm draws a crowd so go before that or after, and weekdays the ticket desk barely has a line at all.

yep, mornings are dead quiet there

Ikebukuro Sunshine, Tuesday mornings

Sea Life's top floor terrace over the bay is the part nobody mentions, worth the ticket on its own.

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

good call on the quieter weekends, though i'd grab the combo ticket with the nearby mall for a few hundred yen more

arrow_drop_up 5 arrow_drop_down

honestly the combo ticket with the mall next door is the actual move, saves u a few hundred yen and you can duck out for lunch. saturdays still get busy after 11 though so go early.

Jellyfish room before noon, no crowd at all.
